Job Description
Are you a Veterinary Surgeon looking for a role that can be flexible around your home life? Perhaps you are family-focused and seeking a position that can accommodate your needs? If so, we have the perfect opportunity for you.
About Their Practice:
Our client’s practice is conveniently situated, making it suitable for commuters from various locations. The area offers the perfect blend of accessibility and amenities, ensuring an ideal work-life balance.
Owned by an experienced Veterinary Nurse, the practice is supported by a team comprising 4 Veterinary Surgeons, 6 additional RVNs, 2 SVNs, 6 Receptionists, and 1 Practice Manager. The Lead Veterinary Surgeon has a special interest in ultrasonography, and many of the Veterinary Surgeons and nurses hold additional certificates. They are eager to support any interests you may bring to their team. With 15-minute consults, and 30-minute slots available when needed, they ensure dedicated admin time for paperwork outside of consults, allowing their Veterinary Surgeons adequate time to work up their cases. Monthly vet clinical meetings provide opportunities to discuss cases, review protocols, and explore new products.
Learning and development are central to their ethos, and they conduct regular 1:1 sessions to support and encourage individual team member progression. They also maintain a subscription to Vetlexicon and foster strong relationships with nearby referral practices, who offer invaluable support and advice when needed. Additionally, their nurses undertake their own consults and straightforward discharges, as well as various procedures such as blood sampling, radiography, I/V placement, and post-op checks, thereby easing the workload of the Veterinary Surgeons in practice.
They actively promote team bonding and organize events funded by the practice, fostering a friendly atmosphere at work.
Within their practice, they boast 4 consult rooms and high-quality imaging modalities, including dental x-ray facilities. Their practice is blessed with natural lighting, and its spacious layout includes a recently refurbished large colleague area and an outside balcony, enhancing their colleagues’ well-being at work.
They offer flexibility in terms of both clinical preference and working hours. They guarantee at least one surgical day a week but can also accommodate consult-only or surgically biased roles. This is a full-time position with flexibility regarding working hours. They are ideally seeking a Veterinary Surgeon with prior practice experience, comfortable with both the medical and surgical aspects of the role. You will be part of their 1 in 5 Saturday rota (mornings only, 8 am – 12 pm), with no OOH shifts, and the practice is closed on Sundays and Bank Holidays.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Salary starting from £45K FTE, depending on your level of experience.
- RCVS/VDS and BVA Fees paid.
- Generous CPD allowance and fully funded certificates, with travel and accommodation expenses covered.
- Private medical insurance.
- Contributory pension scheme, along with companywide discounts.
- Relocation allowance to be discussed at the interview.
- Company discounts and access to their Reward Hub, offering discounts across a range of high-street retailers.
So, if you have an ambition to be part of the future, please apply.
