Our proudly independent client is looking for a Small Animal Vet to join their team on a permanent basis. They are a rural practice based in Yelverton with a small branch surgery located 5 miles away in the town of Tavistock. Yelverton is positioned on the edge of Dartmoor National park, nine miles from Plymouth with direct train links countrywide. This is within easy reach of the stunning south Devon coastline with numerous beaches and coastal walks!

They are a progressive, independent, small animal practice who is friendly, supportive, well equipped, RCVS accredited, and an approved nurse training centre. They take a particularly keen interest in ophthalmology, dentistry and orthopaedics. Consultations are 15 minutes long.

THE ROLE Monday to Friday – 9am – 6.30pm Saturday morning – 9am – 12.30pm (by appointment only) This 4-vet practice does its own OOH with the rota equally shared for nights and weekends on call. (days off in lieu for weekends worked). A nurse is also on duty on the premises every night. The volume of work OOH is generally light (average 4-6 calls over a weekend).

The practice has a Saturday morning clinic and then takes emergency calls only from lunchtime till Monday morning. Full OOH support is available when on call.

THE CANDIDATE They are looking for someone who is personable and enjoys interacting with clients.
