Job Description
Are you a Veterinary Nurse who is happy in consultations, has a passion for anaesthesia and assisting in surgeries, or whose favourite thing is providing excellent inpatient care? Our Client has a Veterinary Nurse role for you!
Situated in a thriving practice, their veterinary team has flourished over nearly three years, gaining an outstanding reputation in the area. Their aim is to provide excellent gold standard patient and client care while maintaining a fun and friendly family ethos.
About the role:
You’ll collaborate with a supportive team comprising two Veterinary Surgeons, three nurses, and one VCA, supported by an experienced front-of-house team. Their Lead Veterinary Surgeon and practice owner, is originally from the area and chose to return to set up the practice 10 years ago to offer a caring and compassionate service to the local community.
About Their Practice:
The friendly, relaxed, and collaborative culture has meant that many team members have been with the practice for a number of years. Support and advice on cases are readily available as staff often exchange thoughts throughout the day. Their Lead Veterinary Surgeon has a particular interest in feline behaviour, holding an advanced certificate in this area. The practice has adapted its ways of working to support this interest, leading to the practice achieving Bronze ISFM ‘cat-friendly’ status. As an ISFM accredited practice, they hold ‘cat-only’ clinics two evenings and one morning each week, and they have separate cat and dog wards in their stand-alone practice. They are currently exploring becoming a Dogs Trust ‘dog-friendly’ practice. They are also a nurse training practice and enjoy watching their team progress through their time with them. They aim to have monthly lunch and learns to support this progression. Similarly, the practice will encourage and support any interests a new vet brings to the team.
This can be a full or part-time role, and they are pleased to offer a flexible rota to suit your commitments. Their ‘normal’ rota consists of a mix of consultations and surgery, but they can accommodate someone looking for a consult-only role. They also have some flexibility with their diary, with each vet having a slightly different schedule in terms of breaks, and their nursing team assists with specific consultations and procedures to support the Veterinary Surgeons throughout their day’s work. There is potential for occasional sole charge depending on team holidays, and ideally, you will join their 1 in 4 Saturday rota (8:45-12:45), but this can be discussed at the interview. This position will suit a vet confident with routine consultations and surgery, looking to balance their career with their own commitments.
Compensation & Benefits:
In addition to a salary commensurate with experience (£40,000-£55,000), they also offer a competitive benefits package, including:
- Paid memberships
- Visa sponsorship
- Relocation package (£2,000)
- CPD allowance
- Up to 30% off across the Pets network and access to the Pets reward hub, offering discounts across a number of high street retailers.
For someone looking to relocate, the town offers excellent schools, an affordable cost of living, and is within easy reach of major cities, with an excellent transport network.
So, if you have an ambition to be part of the future, please apply.
