Job Description
Salary – Up to £52,000 plus benefits and a sign-on bonus of £2,000.
This is an opportunity for you to truly shape the standards of care provided in a locally owned and run practice supporting the local community. Our client has an excellent opportunity for an experienced Veterinary Surgeon to join their friendly team in Greater Manchester. The role is within an established practice where the team works well together and is fully committed to the practice and its clients. Many team members have been here since the doors opened in 2015 and work hard to maintain a social aspect to the team whenever possible, with opportunities to get together outside of work. The practice has a new Clinical Lead (Vets) in place to work alongside and support them.
As the UK’s second most populated city, Manchester has a rich history of culture, industry, and success that informs its exciting present and future. In terms of quality of life, the city is growing, costs are lower, including housing, providing a higher level of disposable income for living. Compared to London, with a good transport system, affordable housing, and all the perks of the largest city, it can offer a better lifestyle. Manchester boasts its fair share of Michelin-starred restaurants and 10 green flag parks in the city. Walkden is just outside the northwestern side of the M60, making it easily commutable to Liverpool for more nightlife and ferries to Ireland.
About Their Practice:
The practice benefits from great support within the organisation, but its main strength is being run and owned by local people who deliver the best practice possible for the local community. This allows our client and their team to personalise the care on offer and ensures that each member of the team has a real voice in how care is delivered to their patients, enabling a real “proud to be part of the team” work ethos. As an experienced Veterinary Surgeon, you will be the role model for your clinical team and be motivated to develop individuals to reach their own full potential.
They have an excellent relationship with their colleagues and benefit from collaborative working. Parking is easy as they are on a retail park, with a variety of shops locally and a fully equipped gym which their team can get discounted membership. There is also a steady supply of brownies and treats as Gemma is their star baker!
About You:
The ideal Veterinary Surgeon to join them will be a keen team player, have excellent communication skills, and be able to build great relationships with their clients and their pets. You should be confident in routine surgical and medical cases and comfortable with sole charge.
What makes this role different for you!
You will also be pivotal to the practice, truly shaping the standards within the practice and putting your stamp on how care for your patients is provided. This is a full-time role for 40 hours with NO WEEKENDS. There are no Out of Hours, so when you finish for the day, you can always rest and recharge. However, they are passionate about allowing people to create a work-life balance that suits them, so if you are looking for a more flexible working arrangement, please get in touch as they will be happy to discuss this.
You will also be supported by a very experienced nursing team. Their nurses are equipped and enabled to do all the work you don’t have to, allowing you to concentrate on providing the highest level of veterinary care.
Compensation & Benefits:
In addition to a rewarding role in a superb location with excellent transport links, you can also expect to receive:
- Competitive salary of £80,000 (dependent on experience)
- No out of hours allowing for a healthy work/life balance.
- Discussion open around holidays
