Our client’s bustling hospital is seeking a proactive, enthusiastic, and emergency-loving RVN to join their 7-on-14-off night rota. This position is a 12-month fixed-term, maternity cover contract with the opportunity to move to a day position thereafter. The successful candidate will join a highly experienced team, working in a clinic equipped with endoscopy, digital x-ray, ultrasound, multi-parameter monitors, in-house bloods, an imaging suite with CT, a dental suite, and much more. The practice also features a spacious outdoor area, dedicated staff and client parking, a large staff room, and close transport links.

This opportunity is ideal for an experienced Veterinary Nurse who enjoys a mix of complex cases across surgery and consultations from a loyal client base.

Responsibilities

• Consistently deliver exceptional care to clients.
• Support with surgeries and procedures, completing all pre- and post-procedure activities.
• Carry out nurse-led appointments and Schedule 3 activities.
• Deliver patient monitoring and care.
• Manage admissions and discharges as directed by the veterinary team.
• Complete patient transfers to out-of-hours or enhanced care.
• Dispense and check medication.
• Deliver professional excellence, complying with all regulatory, practice, and operational standards.
• Hold briefings to engage and coordinate your team to support the most effective running of the practice.

Requirements

• RCVS registered Veterinary Nurse.
• Experience in delivering exceptional patient and client care.
• Experience in working effectively as part of a team.
• Experience in supporting nurse consultations, with an understanding of how this contributes to practice performance and efficiency.
• Experience in using coaching and influencing skills to get the best out of colleagues.
