Job Description

Our client, a well-established veterinary practice, is seeking a Registered Veterinary Nurse to join their team on a part-time basis, working two days a week (a total of 18 hours). This role offers a competitive salary of £13,500 per year. The practice is known for its friendly and supportive team, led by a dedicated branch partner, and for providing exceptional care to a loyal client base.

The successful candidate will work closely with a collaborative team, contributing to all aspects of nursing, from assisting Veterinary Surgeons in daily duties to performing nurse-led appointments. This role offers the opportunity to work in a practice equipped with modern facilities, including an in-house lab, X-ray, and ultrasound, ensuring they have the tools needed to deliver top-quality care.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Consistently deliver exceptional care to clients and patients.
  • Assist with surgeries and procedures, including pre- and post-operative care.
  • Conduct nurse-led appointments and perform Schedule 3 activities.
  • Monitor and care for patients throughout their treatment.
  • Manage patient admissions and discharges as directed by the veterinary team.
  • Transfer patients to out-of-hours or enhanced care as needed.
  • Dispense and check medications.
  • Uphold professional excellence by adhering to all regulatory, practice, and operational standards.
  • Lead team briefings to ensure the effective running of the practice.

 

Requirements:

  • RCVS-registered Veterinary Nurse.
  • Experience in delivering exceptional patient and client care.
  • Proven ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Experience in supporting nurse consultations, with an understanding of their impact on practice performance and efficiency.
  • Skilled in coaching and influencing colleagues to achieve the best outcomes.
