Job Description

A well-established practice within the Enfield 24-hour hospital region, known for its exceptional standard of care, is currently seeking a dedicated and passionate Registered Veterinary Nurse to join the team on a part-time basis, working 2 days a week (18 hours). The salary for this role is £13,500 per year.

As a Registered Veterinary Nurse at this practice, you will have the opportunity to work within a friendly and supportive team led by the branch partner. You will contribute to a practice that boasts a loyal client base, where your personal and professional growth is valued. You will be involved in all aspects of nursing, supporting Veterinary Surgeons with daily duties and collaborating closely with the rest of the team on various projects. The practice is equipped with modern facilities, including an in-house lab, x-ray, and ultrasound.

 

Responsibilities

  • Assist Veterinary Surgeons with surgeries and procedures, ensuring all pre- and post-procedure activities are completed.
  • Carry out nurse-led appointments and Schedule 3 activities.
  • Monitor and care for patients, managing admissions and discharges as directed by the veterinary team.
  • Dispense and check medications with precision.
  • Conduct patient transfers to out-of-hours or enhanced care facilities.
  • Maintain professional excellence by adhering to all regulatory, practice, and operational standards.
  • Hold briefings to coordinate and support the efficient running of the practice.

 

Requirements

  • Registered with the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS).
  • Proven experience in delivering exceptional patient and client care.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Experience in supporting nurse consultations and understanding their impact on practice performance.
  • Strong coaching and influencing skills to bring out the best in colleagues.
