Job Description

A well-established and reputable veterinary practice is seeking a Veterinary Nurse to join their dedicated team due to an internal promotion. This permanent, full-time role offers the opportunity to work 40 hours per week over five days, with a requirement to cover 1:3 Saturday mornings. Part-time applications are also welcome, and Our client is open to flexibility to accommodate the right candidate’s needs.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver exceptional care to clients and their pets consistently.
  • Support with surgeries and procedures, managing all pre- and post-operative activities.
  • Conduct nurse-led appointments and Schedule 3 activities.
  • Monitor and care for patients during their stay.
  • Manage admissions and discharges as directed by the veterinary team.
  • Oversee patient transfers for out-of-hours or enhanced care.
  • Dispense and check medication accurately.
  • Maintain professional excellence, adhering to all regulatory, practice, and operational standards.
  • Hold briefings to engage and coordinate the team, ensuring the effective running of the practice.

 

Requirements

  • Registered with the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS).
  • Experience in delivering outstanding care to both patients and clients.
  • Proven ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Experience in supporting nurse consults and understanding how this contributes to practice performance.
  • Skilled in coaching and influencing colleagues to achieve their best.
