The successful candidate will work alongside a team consisting of a practice owner, head vet, practice manager, full-time and part-time vets, head nurse, registered veterinary nurse, veterinary care assistants, and receptionists, along with a supportive team of regular locums. With years of growth and an established client base, this practice presents varied and rewarding casework for the successful candidate.

 

Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality veterinary care with a mix of consults and surgeries
  • Collaborate with the team to build strong client relationships and provide ongoing pet healthcare
  • Take sole charge when needed, handling routine and non-routine consultations and surgeries
  • Contribute to an environment of professional and reliable client care and communication
  • Participate in a flexible weekend rota, currently built around 1 in 3 Saturdays, with no out-of-hours requirements
  • Support the team’s work-life balance ethos, with flexibility around days off, start, and finish times

 

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a veterinary surgeon, ideally within a first-opinion practice
  • Strong communication skills and a team-oriented approach
  • Ability to work confidently in sole-charge situations as required
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and a keen interest in building long-term client relationships
