Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic Registered Veterinary Nurse to join a friendly and welcoming team at a small animal practice. This role offers a chance to work in a purpose-built, fully equipped surgery, delivering excellent clinical care in a supportive and collaborative environment.

As a valued member of the team, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to utilise their nursing skills to their full potential. They will work alongside a dedicated team of 2 Vets, 3 Nurses, 1 Veterinary Care Assistant, a Practice Manager, and 3 Client Care Advisors. Their contributions will play a vital role in patient care and the overall running of the practice, ensuring outstanding service for both pets and their owners.

Responsibilities

The role will involve:

• Admitting patients and preparing them for procedures.
• Monitoring anaesthetics and assisting during surgeries.
• Recovering and discharging patients post-procedure.
• Collaborating with Veterinary Care Assistants to maintain theatre efficiency and patient preparation.
• Providing excellent customer service and support to clients.

Requirements

To apply, candidates should have:

• Good general nursing experience.
• Strong customer service skills with a cheerful and enthusiastic approach.
• A down-to-earth attitude and a genuine interest in animal welfare.
• Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN) qualification.

This part-time role offers a 32-hour working week with 1 in 4 Saturdays (Monday 08:30 am–2:30 pm, Tuesday and Wednesday 08:30 am–7:00 pm, Friday 1:00 pm–7:00 pm). In return, the successful candidate will receive:
