Responsibilities

As Lead Veterinary Surgeon, the successful candidate will:

  • Provide exceptional clinical care to patients during consultations and procedures.
  • Keep clients updated with clear and empathetic communication regarding their pets’ conditions.
  • Uphold the highest standards of practice, regulatory, and operational compliance.
  • Develop tailored treatment plans and provide accurate cost estimates for clients.
  • Lead, mentor, and engage the team, enhancing their skills and creating a positive work environment.
  • Oversee the clinical handover of patients requiring enhanced or out-of-hours care.
  • Share best practices and clinical expertise across practices within the network.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, the candidate will need:

  • RCVS registration as a Veterinary Surgeon.
  • At least 3 years of experience in UK small animal practice.
  • Demonstrable clinical leadership and mentorship abilities.
  • Experience in implementing a progressive clinical culture.
  • Strong teamwork skills and the ability to inspire and support colleagues.
  • Familiarity with supporting nurse consultations and schedule 3 procedures to improve clinic efficiency.
