Here, you can refine your skills with a diverse and interesting caseload, ranging from thoracic and spinal surgery to complex medical cases and everything in between.

About Them

Founded in 2001, they quickly gained a reputation for providing outstanding care, leading to the expansion of their team. Their experienced 9-vet team includes Advanced Practitioners in surgery, medicine, and cardiology, enabling them to take referrals from local practices. They also have access to visiting CT and MRI scanners, providing non-invasive, advanced imaging and allowing them to manage exciting cases in-house.

In 2020, they moved into newly refurbished, purpose-built premises equipped with excellent facilities. Their clinic features a separate cat waiting room, a dedicated cat ward, two state-of-the-art theatres with cutting-edge equipment for advanced surgical procedures, including orthopaedics and laparoscopy, and a separate imaging room offering ultrasonography, echocardiography, endoscopy, rhinoscopy, bronchoscopy, and digital and dental radiography.

The Rota

Their RVNs work a 40-hour week with varied 7.5-hour shifts, allowing involvement in all aspects of nursing, including theatre, prep, wards, and pharmacy. There are no routine reception duties, as their Client Care Advisors and VCAs handle client interactions.

  • Earliest shift: 7:45 am – 3:45 pm
  • Latest shift: Duty shift finishing at 8:00 pm
  • Evening cleaners cover clinical and domestic areas, ensuring RVNs focus on nursing

They provide a vet-led out-of-hours service, with RVNs working 1:7 weeknights and 1:10 weekends, including a Saturday morning shift (7:45 am – 12:45 pm). After this, you’ll be on call from home, with vets managing phones and inpatient care. You’ll receive a retainer for on-call duties, plus overtime for any call-ins. An early finish is scheduled after on-call shifts (12:45 pm on Monday following a weekend on call and 2:45 pm following a weeknight on call). A duty room is available for those who prefer to stay on-site.
