Job Description

An exciting opportunity is available for a Veterinary Surgeon to join a well-equipped practice with a dedicated team providing first-opinion small animal services. The practice is currently led by a Practice Manager, supported by a Client Care Assistant. This role will initially be sole charge, with plans to expand the team.

As a Veterinary Surgeon, the successful candidate will play a key role in delivering high-quality clinical care to patients while providing exceptional service to clients. They will work within a supportive team, with opportunities for professional development and career progression. This part-time, permanent role consists of 30 hours per week across three days (Tuesday–Thursday, 8:30 am – 6:30 pm), with no weekends currently (subject to change). Flexibility is available, so preferences can be discussed.

Responsibilities

  • Provide exceptional clinical care during consultations and procedures.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, offering clear updates on patient care.
  • Uphold high standards of regulatory, practice, and operational compliance.
  • Prepare accurate treatment and care plans, including transparent cost estimates.
  • Mentor and support colleagues, enhancing their skills and efficiency.
  • Oversee clinical handovers and arrange patient transfers when necessary.
  • Contribute to best practices within the veterinary network, sharing knowledge across the team.

Requirements

  • RCVS-registered Veterinary Surgeon.
  • Experience in delivering outstanding care to patients and clients.
  • Strong team player with clinical leadership skills.
  • Ability to foster a progressive and supportive clinical culture.
  • Experience in supporting nurse consults and Schedule 3 procedures.
  • Strong coaching and influencing skills to maximise team performance.
