Job Description

As part of their nursing team, you will work closely with experienced veterinary surgeons and fellow RVNs across wards, surgery, and diagnostics. You will have the opportunity to take ownership of nurse-led consults, contribute to high-quality inpatient care, and make a positive impact on both patients and their owners. Key Responsibilities
- Assist veterinary surgeons during consultations, procedures, and surgeries
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments
- Provide attentive inpatient care with empathy and accuracy
- Carry out diagnostic and laboratory tests to support patient care
- Conduct nurse consults and provide client education
- Maintain accurate medical records while upholding clinical standards
Requirements
- RCVS-registered Veterinary Nurse qualification
- Confident in inpatient care, anaesthesia, and nurse consults
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- A team player with a proactive, can-do approach
- Passionate about delivering outstanding patient care

Shift Pattern
Their day nurses work an average of 38 hours per week across a 10-week rota, covering varied shifts from 7:00 am–4:00 pm to 3:30 pm–9:30 pm. The rota includes 1 Saturday morning in 10, 1 full weekend in 10 followed by a 5-day weekend, and 1 Saturday night in 10 (plus cover for night nurse holidays).
