Job Description

Our client is looking for a dedicated veterinary professional to join their team in an appealing and commutable location.

You will have the opportunity to work with 4 experienced vets and 5 supportive RVNs. The Practice Owner/Lead Vet is a VetGDP advisor with experience mentoring graduate vets. The existing vet team has a mixture of interests, including soft tissue surgery, orthopaedic surgery, internal medicine, and imaging. You’ll contribute to a variety of projects and cases, including exotic cases which account for less than 10% of their workload.

  • Conduct comprehensive clinical examinations
  • Perform basic and advanced surgical techniques
  • Collaborate with the veterinary team on complex cases
  • Provide high-quality care to a diverse range of animal patients
  • Assist in mentoring and guiding new graduates

  • Excellent communication skills, including strong English language skills
  • Solid grasp of basic clinical skills (clinical exam, basic surgical techniques)
  • Down-to-earth attitude to thrive in their laid-back practice environment
  • Veterinary degree and relevant certifications

  • Competitive starting salary with annual reviews during the 2-year programme
  • Professional memberships paid (practice dependent)
  • Approximately 10 paid CPD days per year (clinical & non-clinical)
  • Dedicated Vet GDP Advisor in practice and access to wellbeing support
  • Fully funded London Vet Show tickets during the 2nd year of the programme
  • Access to their clinical academy for further development after programme completion
  • Relocation and immigration support for overseas candidates, including visa sponsorship (practice dependent)
  • Exclusive lifestyle and shopping discounts, up to 30% off at affiliated company, Pet Plan insurance discount, cycle to work scheme, and more

Their award-winning, 2-year programme is designed by vets to give new graduates like you the best possible start to your practice career. You’ll train on the job with experienced Veterinary Partners and Practice Owners at a pace that works for you, in a location and culture that suits you. You’ll be supported from day one by a dedicated Vet GDP Advisor, as well as the graduate and clinical teams, and online by over 1,300 vets within their clinical community. Plus, you’ll have paid leave to attend tailored CPD events on various topics such as practical dentistry, surgery, radiography, dermatology, and cardiology.

As you build your confidence in caring for pets and their owners, you’ll grow your own client base and see continuity of cases with the support of your wider team. You will have a phased approach to sole charge, and better still, when you’ve finished the programme there’s a career waiting for you either with the practice you trained at or within their wider network.

If you seek a supportive, friendly, and professional environment where you can flourish, alongside a team that prioritizes mutual support, this role may be the perfect fit for you!
