Job Description

A thriving and charming practice with over 35 years of service is seeking a dedicated Registered Veterinary Nurse to join their team!

The successful candidate will be joining a team with a wealth of experience. The practice offers a balanced mix of canine, feline, and occasional exotic patients, ensuring a variety of interesting cases. Facilities include digital X-ray, in-house blood machines for biochemistry and haematology, and access to ultrasound at a nearby practice just a 10-minute drive away. They also have a high-quality microscope and other essential diagnostic tools.

 

Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical leadership to the nursing team.
  • Consistently deliver exceptional care to clients.
  • Support with surgeries and procedures, completing all pre- and post-procedure activities.
  • Lead, manage, and promote nurse-led appointments and Schedule 3 surgeries.
  • Deliver patient monitoring and care.
  • Manage admissions and discharges as directed by the Veterinary team.
  • Complete patient transfers to out-of-hours or enhanced care.
  • Dispense and check medication.
  • Deliver professional excellence, implementing and complying with all regulatory, practice, and operational standards.
  • Inspire their team, sharing new or evolving practice standards and changes to processes.
  • Engage, coach, and develop their team.
  • Proactively support and share clinical best practices across practices and the wider veterinary community.

 

Requirements

  • RCVS registered Veterinary Nurse.
  • Experience of delivering exceptional patient and client care.
  • Ability to confidently lead a clinical team.
  • Experience of implementing a progressive clinical culture through nurse clinics and nurse consultations.
  • Skilled in using coaching and influencing techniques to get the best out of every colleague.
