Job Description

Our client is a leading small animal first opinion practice, dedicated to providing exceptional care. They are currently seeking a Head Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN) to lead their nursing team. The practice is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities, and they pride themselves on their commitment to both patient and client care.

As the Head RVN, you will have the opportunity to lead a highly experienced nursing team within a fully equipped practice. You will work closely with the veterinary team and contribute to a range of projects, including surgical support and the development of nurse-led appointments. This role is integral to maintaining and enhancing the high standards of care that our client provides to their clients and patients.

 

Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

  • Provide clinical leadership to the nursing team.
  • Deliver exceptional care to clients and patients.
  • Support surgeries and procedures, including pre- and post-operative care.
  • Lead and manage nurse-led appointments and Schedule 3 surgeries.
  • Monitor patient care and manage admissions and discharges.
  • Dispense and check medication accurately.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory, practice, and operational standards.
  • Inspire and coach your team, sharing best practices and new procedures.
  • Support and promote clinical excellence across the wider community.

 

Requirements

  • RCVS-registered Veterinary Nurse.
  • Proven experience in delivering high-quality patient and client care.
  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to confidently manage a clinical team.
  • Experience in implementing clinical improvements through nurse clinics and consultations.
  • Excellent coaching and influencing skills to develop and motivate colleagues.
