Job Description
Are you a passionate veterinary nurse looking for an exciting leadership role within a supportive and dynamic team? Our client is seeking an enthusiastic Head Nurse to join their busy small animal practice, offering the perfect opportunity to grow professionally while making a real difference to both patients and colleagues. Previous leadership experience is desirable but not essential, as they value dedication, energy, and a collaborative mindset.
This is a chance to work alongside a skilled team of veterinary surgeons, including a cardiologist, ECC and surgery certificate holders, as well as experienced nurses and support staff. The successful candidate will play a key role in guiding the nursing team, contributing to the smooth running of the practice, and supporting initiatives that enhance patient care and team development.
Responsibilities
- Lead and support the veterinary nursing team
- Ensure high standards of patient care across the practice
- Assist with staff mentoring and professional development
- Coordinate daily nursing operations and workflow
- Maintain clinical equipment and protocols, including infection prevention
- Support quality improvement initiatives
Requirements
- Qualified veterinary nurse (RVN or SVN)
- Leadership experience is desirable but not essential
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Compassionate, approachable, and team-oriented
- Commitment to delivering excellent patient care
