Job Description

Our client, a well-regarded veterinary practice, is looking for a Lead Veterinary Surgeon to join their team. This role offers a unique opportunity to work in a supportive and caring environment, delivering a full range of veterinary services, including nurse clinics and dental procedures, while providing expert care. You will be supported by a dedicated team, including the newly appointed Practice Manager, the veterinary and nursing team, and the Head RVN.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to advance their career by joining a dynamic and growing veterinary practice. They will work closely with the Practice Manager and contribute to various projects aimed at delivering exceptional care to patients and clients. This role will allow you to lead a talented team and promote clinical excellence within the practice.

 

Responsibilities

  • Deliver exceptional clinical care to patients during consultations and procedures.
  • Provide clear updates to clients regarding patient care and progress.
  • Ensure professional excellence and maintain the highest standards of regulatory, practice, and operational compliance.
  • Prepare accurate client estimates, ensuring payment and minimising debt.
  • Collaborate with the Practice Manager to enhance commercial performance, focusing on key measures.
  • Mentor, engage, and develop team members, enhancing their skills and effectiveness.
  • Inspire your team by sharing evolving practice standards and process changes.
  • Complete clinical handovers and arrange patient transfers for out-of-hours or enhanced care.
  • Proactively share clinical best practices within the practice and the wider veterinary community.

 

Requirements

  • Registered Veterinary Surgeon with the RCVS.
  • Strong clinical leadership skills and experience in delivering high standards of care to both patients and clients.
  • A solid understanding of how exceptional care enhances the client experience.
  • Proven experience in fostering a progressive clinical culture and driving commercial performance through effective clinical activity management.
  • A team player with experience in coaching and influencing colleagues to achieve their best.
