Job Description
Our client is looking for a confident and experienced Lead Veterinary Surgeon to join their team. This is an exciting opportunity to lead a dedicated team with access to state-of-the-art equipment.
The successful candidate will join an expanding and energised team of 2 vets, 2 RVNs, 1 student nurse, and 1 veterinary care assistant. You will have the opportunity to contribute to a variety of small animal cases and support the development of your colleagues. The team has interests in surgery, rabbits, geriatric patients, and dentistry.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the day-to-day operations of the practice.
- Perform routine and complex surgeries and medical procedures.
- Mentor and support vets, nurses, and student nurses.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with patients, clients, and the team.
- Ensure high standards of veterinary care and client service.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to the development of clinical protocols.
- Engage in continuous professional development and training.
Requirements
- Qualified Veterinary Surgeon.
- Significant experience in veterinary practice.
- Confidence in performing a range of surgical procedures.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to build strong relationships with clients, patients, and team members.
- Enthusiastic about professional growth and development.

Practice Location and Facilities
The practice is well equipped with state-of-the-art equipment, including ultrasound, digital X-ray, and a full in-house laboratory.
Team Interests
The team includes members with a keen interest in surgery, rabbits, geriatric patients, and dentistry. The successful candidate will be joining a supportive environment where individual interests are encouraged and developed.
This is a full-time role (40 hours) with a weekend rota of 1 in 3. There is no Out of Hours (OOH) requirement and only a small amount of sole charge responsibility.
