Our client is a long-established veterinary practice known for providing exceptional care. They are seeking a Night Veterinary Surgeon to join their dedicated team. This practice offers state-of-the-art facilities, including a newly installed CT scanner, and is proud to provide 24-hour on-site veterinary and nursing care.

The successful candidate will work alongside a team of skilled professionals, including vets with special interests in surgery, dentistry, endoscopy, and cardiology. The role offers the opportunity to work with advanced diagnostic equipment and participate in a varied caseload, providing hospital-level care. They will be responsible for supporting the night team and ensuring the highest standards of care for patients and their owners.

 

Responsibilities

  • Deliver exceptional clinical care during consultations and procedures.
  • Provide clear and compassionate updates to clients regarding their pets’ care.
  • Maintain high standards of regulatory, practice, and operational compliance.
  • Prepare accurate treatment and care plans, including clear cost estimates.
  • Mentor and develop team members, enhancing their skills and effectiveness.
  • Complete clinical handovers and manage the transfer of patients requiring out-of-hours or specialised care.
  • Proactively share and support clinical best practices across the wider community.

 

Requirements

  • RCVS registered Veterinary Surgeon.
  • Experience in delivering exceptional care to both patients and clients.
  • Proven ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Demonstrated clinical leadership skills.
  • Experience in fostering a progressive clinical culture.
  • Familiarity with supporting nurse consults and Schedule 3 procedures, with an understanding of their impact on clinic performance and efficiency.
  • Skilled in using coaching and influencing techniques to optimise team performance.
