Job Description
Our client, a leading veterinary care provider, is seeking an experienced Veterinary Nurse to join their referral team as they relaunch their medicine and surgery referral services this autumn, alongside a new ophthalmology referral service. This role offers an opportunity to be part of a centre of excellence that provides advanced and specialist care, with a commitment to going above and beyond for both clients and their animals.
The successful candidate will join a dynamic team at a state-of-the-art referral centre, working with highly skilled veterinary professionals. They will have the opportunity to contribute to a wide range of specialist services, including medicine, surgery, and ophthalmology, while supporting the practice in delivering outstanding patient and client care. This role offers a flexible working schedule and the chance to work with advanced diagnostic and treatment equipment.
Responsibilities
- Consistently deliver exceptional care to clients and their animals.
- Assist with surgeries and procedures, including all pre- and post-procedure activities.
- Conduct nurse-led appointments and Schedule 3 activities.
- Monitor and provide care for patients.
- Support advanced imaging procedures, such as CT, endoscopy, and MRI.
- Manage patient admissions and discharges as directed by the veterinary team.
- Dispense and check medications.
- Ensure professional excellence by adhering to all regulatory, practice, and operational standards.
- Lead briefings to engage and coordinate the team to ensure the most effective running of the practice.
Requirements
- Registered Veterinary Nurse with the RCVS.
- Proven experience in delivering high standards of patient and client care.
- Strong team player with experience working effectively in a collaborative environment.
- Experience in supporting nurse consultations and understanding how they contribute to practice performance and efficiency.
- Skilled in coaching and influencing colleagues to achieve their best.
- Experience working in a referral clinic; additional qualifications are advantageous.
