Our client is a well-established veterinary care provider seeking a dedicated full-time Veterinary Nurse for a 12-month maternity cover role. The practice is set in a picturesque location, ideal for outdoor enthusiasts who enjoy activities such as water sports, dog walking, and exploring the local area.
This role offers an excellent opportunity for a passionate Veterinary Nurse to join a skilled team of four veterinary surgeons, including those with special interests in small animal surgery, dentistry, and diagnostic imaging. The successful candidate will work alongside four full-time nurses, one part-time head nurse, and two second-year student nurses, contributing to various procedures, consultations, and therapies. They will participate in a range of projects, from laser therapy to diagnostic imaging, within a supportive environment.
Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional care to patients and clients in line with our client’s values.
- Assist in surgeries and procedures, managing all pre- and post-operative activities.
- Conduct nurse-led appointments and perform Schedule 3 activities.
- Monitor and care for patients, ensuring their comfort and well-being.
- Manage patient admissions, discharges, and transfers to out-of-hours or enhanced care as required.
- Accurately dispense and check medications.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory, practice, and operational standards.
- Lead briefings to coordinate the team and ensure the practice runs effectively.
Requirements
- Must be a Registered Veterinary Nurse (RCVS).
- Experience in delivering outstanding patient and client care.
- Proven ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Experience with nurse consultations and an understanding of their contribution to practice performance and efficiency.
- Strong coaching and influencing skills to support team development.
