Job Description

Our client is a modern, first-opinion small animal practice with two branches, known for their multicultural team and extensive experience. Their range of procedures includes neutering, dental work, BOAS, and orthopaedics. They pride themselves on their harmonious work environment and state-of-the-art equipment, always investing in new technologies to provide the best care.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to join a dedicated team at either branch. At one branch, you’ll work with a variety of patients, including dogs, cats, and small furries, alongside a team of specialists in Dentistry and Ultrasonography. At the other branch, their 24-hour hospital, you’ll encounter complex cases, particularly in ECC, and work with a head vet who is a registered Cambridge BOAS assessor passionate about bull breeds.

As a Registered Veterinary Nurse, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Maintaining a high standard of inpatient care and assisting with surgical procedures.
  • Communicating professionally with clients and maintaining positive relationships with all team members.
  • Complying with the RCVS Nursing Code of Conduct and meeting CPD requirements.
  • Ensuring cleanliness throughout the practice and fulfilling rota obligations.
  • Admitting and discharging patients for routine operations.
  • Staying updated on preventative healthcare, product knowledge, and practice policies.
  • Running nurse clinics.
  • Ensuring the correct disposal of clinical waste.
  • Maintaining effective stock control and rotation.
  • Working Monday to Friday with 1 in 4 Saturdays (a day off in lieu). Part-time positions are also available. No OOH requirements.

To be considered for this role, you must:

  • Be a fully qualified Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN).
  • Be committed to maintaining high standards of care.
  • Possess strong communication and organisational skills.
  • Work well within a team and support colleagues.
  • Adhere to professional dress code and appearance policies.

Our client offers a competitive salary of up to £35,000 per year, along with a range of benefits designed to support your work-life balance and professional development:

  • 6 weeks’ annual leave.
  • £1,500 CPD allowance.
  • Certificate support.
  • VDS cover and RCVS fees.
  • 5% employee/3% employer pension.
  • Discounted staff pet care.
  • Preferred 5-day week, with options for 3 or 4 days.
  • No OOH requirements.
  • 1 in 4 Saturdays (possibly 1 in 5).
