Job Description

Our client is seeking a talented and dedicated veterinary nurse to join their team on a nine-month fixed-term contract due to maternity leave. The successful candidate will join a close-knit team of veterinary professionals, working in a friendly practice that encourages teamwork and shared growth. You’ll collaborate with 1.5 vets, a head nurse, a registered nurse, and two student nurses, contributing to surgeries, nurse-led appointments, and exceptional patient care. The role offers flexibility, with part-time applications considered, providing a chance to make a meaningful impact.

 

Responsibilities

As a veterinary nurse, you will be responsible for:

  • Delivering exceptional care to clients and patients.
  • Assisting in surgeries and procedures, managing pre- and post-procedure tasks.
  • Conducting nurse-led appointments and Schedule 3 activities.
  • Monitoring and providing patient care.
  • Managing admissions and discharges as instructed by the veterinary team.
  • Coordinating patient transfers for out-of-hours or advanced care.
  • Dispensing and checking medications.
  • Ensuring compliance with regulatory and operational standards.
  • Engaging and coordinating the team to support effective practice operations.

 

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have:

  • RCVS registration as a Veterinary Nurse.
  • A proven track record of delivering high-quality patient and client care.
  • Strong teamwork skills and experience in supporting nurse consultations.
  • The ability to use coaching and influencing techniques to inspire colleagues.
  • A passion for making a positive impact in a veterinary practice.
