Job Description

Our client is a well-established small animal veterinary practice, supported by a 24-hour hospital and a network of nearby branches. With a strong focus on high-quality care and collaborative teamwork, the practice offers a wide range of services including orthopaedics, laparoscopic procedures, advanced imaging, and more. The team is friendly, experienced, and passionate about delivering exceptional veterinary care.

The successful candidate will join a close-knit team led by an experienced Lead Vet and Head Nurse. They will work alongside skilled support staff in a modern, well-equipped practice that has recently been refurbished with state-of-the-art consult rooms and diagnostic tools. As part of a wider veterinary network, they will collaborate with neighbouring clinics and contribute to maintaining high standards of patient care and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver excellent nursing care and clear client communication
  • Support surgeries and procedures, including pre- and post-operative care
  • Run nurse-led clinics and carry out Schedule 3 tasks
  • Monitor and care for in-patients
  • Manage admissions and discharges in collaboration with the veterinary team
  • Assist with patient transfers to enhanced or out-of-hours services
  • Dispense and check medications accurately
  • Ensure compliance with clinical and operational standards
  • Participate in team briefings to support effective practice operations

Requirements

  • RCVS-registered Veterinary Nurse
  • Proven experience in delivering high-quality patient and client care
  • A strong team player with excellent communication skills
  • Confident in running nurse consults and supporting clinical performance
  • Able to coach and support colleagues effectively
