An exciting opportunity is now available for a passionate and experienced Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN) to join a well-established 24-hour veterinary hospital. The Opportunity

This full-time RVN position (40 hours per week) is ideal for someone who enjoys working across different departments, including theatre, wards, consults, and emergency & critical care. The successful candidate will be joining a large, supportive team in a hospital equipped with advanced diagnostic and surgical facilities, including a CT scanner, an in-house laboratory, and a specialist-led surgical team.

They will work alongside a highly experienced nursing team and collaborate closely with over 20 vets, 25+ RVNs, student nurses, veterinary care assistants, and a strong front-of-house team — all dedicated to delivering exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Rotate across all hospital departments: consults, theatre, wards, and ECC
  • Deliver consistently high standards of nursing care and patient welfare
  • Support, mentor, and guide student and junior nurses
  • Work an average of 1 in 4 weekends, with time off in lieu (TOIL)
  • Take part in the on-call rota (as part of a last-resort rotation)
  • Cover up to three bank holidays per year

Requirements

  • RCVS-registered Veterinary Nurse
  • Ideally 2+ years’ experience in a hospital or busy practice setting
  • Confident in a dynamic, fast-paced clinical environment
  • Excellent communication, teamwork, and mentoring abilities
  • A genuine passion for delivering high-quality veterinary care
