Job Description
A well-established veterinary practice is seeking a skilled Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN) to join their talented and friendly team. This role offers the chance to work in a refurbished clinic equipped with state-of-the-art facilities, including an in-house laboratory, operating theatre, ECG, ultrasound, and X-ray. The successful candidate will be an integral part of the nursing team, utilising both surgical and medical nursing skills while conducting nurse-led clinics. They will work closely alongside a dedicated veterinary team and support staff to provide personalised care to a long-standing client base. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to a wide range of clinical activities and develop professional expertise within a modern, well-resourced practice.
Responsibilities
- Deliver outstanding care to patients and clients at all times
- Support veterinary surgeons with surgeries and procedures, including pre- and post-operative duties
- Conduct nurse-led appointments and clinics
- Monitor patient health and provide ongoing care
- Manage patient admissions and discharges as directed by the veterinary team
- Transfer patients to out-of-hours or enhanced care services when necessary
- Dispense and check medications accurately
- Uphold professional standards, ensuring compliance with regulatory and operational policies
- Lead team briefings to ensure smooth and effective practice operations
Requirements
- RCVS-registered Veterinary Nurse
- Proven experience delivering excellent patient and client care
- Ability to work collaboratively and effectively as part of a team
- Experience supporting nurse-led consultations and understanding their impact on practice efficiency
- Strong coaching and influencing skills to motivate and support colleagues
