Job Description
Our client is an independent, family-oriented veterinary practice with a friendly and experienced team. They are currently seeking a Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN) to join their dedicated nursing team following the emigration of one of their valued colleagues.
The successful candidate will join a nursing team comprising five RVNs, two SVNs due to qualify this summer, and a VCA preparing to begin her training. Whether newly qualified or experienced, you will be supported in developing your clinical confidence and exploring your professional interests.
You will work alongside a team of seven vets with diverse clinical interests, including certificate holders in imaging and cardiology. The practice fosters a collaborative culture and maintains exciting partnerships, including work with wildlife rescue organisations, which provide unique and rewarding clinical opportunities.
Responsibilities
As part of a rotating rota, your responsibilities will include:
- Operating, prep, wards, consulting, and float nursing duties
- Following cases from start to finish to ensure continuity of care
- Providing outstanding support to patients and clients
- Participating in a 1-in-7 Saturday consulting rota (9 am to 12 pm), with shared on-call support until 4 pm
- Contributing to a varied caseload, including exotics and wildlife
The full-time rota is a four-day working week with a fixed day off. However, alternative options such as five shorter days can be discussed.
Requirements
The ideal candidate will:
- Be a qualified RVN, registered with the RCVS
- Enjoy working as part of a close-knit, supportive team
- Be passionate about patient care and keen to build client relationships
- Be enthusiastic about learning and ongoing development
- Bring confidence or interest in working with varied caseloads, including wildlife and exotics
Benefits

- £1,000 welcome bonus, plus the first month’s salary to assist with relocation
- Five weeks’ holiday, plus bank holidays
- RCVS, VDS, and BVNA fees paid
- Generous CPD allowance, with certificates supported and funded
- Private health insurance and Employee Assistance Programme
- Pension scheme
- No out-of-hours, no Sundays, and no bank holiday shifts
