Job Description

Our client is seeking an experienced and compassionate Registered Veterinary Nurse to join their friendly and supportive team. This is an excellent opportunity for a nurse who enjoys a varied role and is passionate about delivering high-quality, patient-focused care within a well-established small-animal practice.

The successful candidate will become part of a dedicated nursing team, rotating throughout the working week between inpatient care, theatre duties, and nurse consultations. You will contribute to a varied small-animal caseload while supporting the practice’s commitment to excellent clinical standards, patient welfare, and client care.


Responsibilities

Key responsibilities of the role include:

  • Providing high-quality nursing care to inpatients

  • Assisting in theatre and supporting surgical procedures

  • Delivering nurse consultations and supporting client education

  • Working collaboratively with veterinary surgeons and support staff

  • Maintaining clinical standards and contributing to a positive team environment

  • Participating in the shared weekend and bank holiday rota


Requirements

The ideal candidate will have:

  • RCVS registration as a Veterinary Nurse

  • Previous experience in a small-animal practice

  • Confidence rotating between inpatient, theatre, and consulting roles

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

  • A proactive, compassionate, and organised approach to nursing care


Working Hours

  • 34 hours per week

  • 1 × 8:30am–6:30pm shift

  • Remaining shifts: 9:00am–3:00pm

  • Participation in a 1:5 weekend day rota (currently operating at 1:8)

  • No weekday or weekend night on-call duties

  • Shared bank holiday rota
