Job Description
We are excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for a Registered Veterinary Nurse at a friendly small animal practice in Braintree. Join a dedicated team and enjoy a varied caseload that allows you to utilise your nursing skills fully. This a full-time position, based on 40 hours a week with a shared weekend rota of just 1 in 4 weekends, but we would also consider part time / There are no OOH.
This is a full-time position, based on 40 hours per week with a shared weekend rota of just 1 in 4 weekends, although part-time options will also be considered. There are no out-of-hours duties.
Located within a popular Pets at Home store, we offer a varied and stimulating caseload, providing opportunities to enhance your experience and utilise your nursing skills fully, including nurse consultations, second vaccinations, post-operative checks, bandage changes, and weight clinics.

In this role, you will work within an enthusiastic nursing team, assisting with surgical cases and inpatient care, while maximising your nursing capabilities.
Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive nursing care including consultations, vaccinations, and post-operative checks.
- Participate in nurse clinics, managing weight checks, bandage changes, and more.
- Work alongside a team of 3 vets, 3 RVNs, 1 student nurse, and supportive administrative staff.
Requirements:
- Qualification as a Registered Veterinary Nurse.
- Ability to conduct a variety of nursing tasks, including consultations, vaccinations, and surgical assistance.
- Strong communication skills to interact effectively with pet owners and team members.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and learning.
- Flexibility to work part-time or full-time hours, with minimal weekend shifts.
