Registered Veterinary Nurse

Job Description

Our client is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Registered Veterinary Nurse to join their team.

They are an established practice, celebrating their 20th year in 2020, and are part of a family of Companion Care and surgeries across the Solent (5 branches in total). Their practice is a friendly, small animal first opinion practice, comprising 4 veterinary surgeons with varying levels of experience supported by seven registered veterinary nurses, two student veterinary nurses, two veterinary care assistants, seven receptionists, and their practice manager.

Their practice is built to industry-leading standards and includes standard and dental digital radiography, ultrasonography, endoscopy, four consulting rooms, individual cat and dog wards, an isolation room, and an onsite operating theatre.

The successful candidate will join a supportive team and have the opportunity to contribute to various projects aimed at enhancing patient care. They will work closely with their experienced veterinary surgeons and nurses, providing exceptional care to their patients.

Responsibilities

• Admissions and discharges
• Monitoring operations
• In-patient care
• Delivering clinics (on weight, dental care, puppy and kitten care, and diabetes)
• Consulting
• Measuring blood pressure
• Blood sampling
• Supporting vets
• Pharmacy work
• Clinical coach training will be provided to support regular student placements

Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years in practice experience
• Excellent customer care, communication (written and verbal), and interpersonal skills
• Computer literacy
• Ability to work under pressure, solve problems, and work independently
• Self-motivated and hardworking
