Job Description

Our client has a new and exciting opportunity for a Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN) at their established branch. This charming clinic boasts state-of-the-art equipment, including a dental suite with CR7 dental radiography, a brand-new X-ray machine, ultrasound, a fully equipped theatre, and in-house laboratory facilities.

The successful candidate will join an organised and friendly team under the leadership of an experienced veterinary partner. The clinic has a well-established, loyal client base dedicated to excellent standards of pet care. The role is full-time, working 40 hours per week with 1:4 weekends, and is a fixed-term maternity cover position for six months. The location offers quick transport links and easy access to tranquil countryside settings.

 

Responsibilities

  • Consistently deliver exceptional care to clients.
  • Support surgeries and procedures, completing all pre- and post-procedure activities.
  • Conduct nurse-led appointments and Schedule 3 activities.
  • Monitor and care for patients.
  • Manage admissions and discharges as directed by the veterinary team.
  • Complete patient transfers to out-of-hours or enhanced care.
  • Dispense and check medication.
  • Deliver professional excellence, complying with all regulatory, practice, and operational standards.
  • Hold briefings to engage and coordinate the team to support the most effective running of the practice.

 

Requirements

  • RCVS registered Veterinary Nurse.
  • Experience in delivering exceptional patient and client care.
  • Proven ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Experience in supporting nurse consultations, with an understanding of their contribution to practice performance and efficiency.
  • Skilled in using coaching and influencing techniques to optimise team performance.
