Our client has an exciting opportunity for a Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN) with a special interest in CT or Surgery to join their dedicated, experienced, and fun nursing team. This role is perfect for someone looking to advance their career in a dynamic and supportive environment.

The successful candidate will be involved in various aspects of veterinary care, including nursing inpatients, conducting nurse clinics, ultrasonography, radiography, advanced CT, and assisting with orthopaedic and soft tissue surgeries. You will be part of an established and friendly team, many of whom have been with the practice for over ten years. The team consists of 7 day vets, 3 night vets, 6 day RVNs, 2 night RVNs, 4 student veterinary nurses (SVNs), 3 patient care assistants (PCAs), and 5 client care assistants (CCAs).

 

Responsibilities

  • Consistently deliver exceptional care to clients.
  • Support surgeries and procedures, handling all pre- and post-procedure activities.
  • Conduct nurse-led appointments and perform Schedule 3 activities.
  • Monitor and care for patients.
  • Manage admissions and discharges as directed by the veterinary team.
  • Facilitate patient transfers to out-of-hours or enhanced care services.
  • Dispense and check medications.
  • Uphold professional excellence, adhering to all regulatory, practice, and operational standards.
  • Lead briefings to engage and coordinate the team for efficient practice operations.

 

Requirements

  • RCVS registered Veterinary Nurse.
  • Experience in delivering exceptional patient and client care.
  • Proven ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Experience in supporting nurse consultations, with an understanding of their impact on practice performance and efficiency.
  • Proficiency in using coaching and influencing skills to maximise team potential.
