Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a well-established practice with a strong team of specialists. This role offers the chance to work alongside Certificate holders in imaging and cardiology, as well as other vets pursuing qualifications in surgery, dentistry, and emergency and critical care (ECC). The practice is also proud to be the first in the area to install a CT scanner, and boasts excellent equipment options, including laparoscopy, endoscopy (rigid and flexible), dental x-ray, ultrasound, and a full lab with iStat. Additionally, they offer hydrotherapy and physiotherapy services.

The successful candidate will join a dedicated team at a 24-hour hospital, working in a dynamic environment with advanced equipment. They will contribute to the development of the practice, engage in various clinical projects, and work with a motivated team. The role includes working 40 hours over a 4-day week with 1 in 4 weekends.

 

Responsibilities

  • Provide exceptional care to patients during consultations and procedures
  • Support surgeries and complete all pre- and post-procedure activities
  • Conduct nurse-led appointments and Schedule 3 activities
  • Monitor and manage patient care, including admissions and discharges
  • Handle patient transfers for out-of-hours or enhanced care
  • Dispense and check medication
  • Maintain professional excellence and comply with all regulatory and practice standards
  • Lead briefings to engage and coordinate the team for effective practice operations

 

Requirements

  • RCVS registered Veterinary Nurse
  • Proven experience in delivering outstanding patient and client care
  • Effective team player with experience supporting nurse consultations
  • Skilled in coaching and influencing colleagues for optimal performance
  • Ability to work within a team, demonstrate good communication skills, and show a caring and motivated approach
