Our client, a well-established veterinary practice, is offering an exciting opportunity for a Veterinary Nurse to join their team on a fixed-term basis for twelve months, starting in July. This role is ideal for a dedicated professional looking to further their career within a supportive and well-equipped environment.
The successful candidate will join a dynamic team that includes a practice manager, a vet, a head nurse, a student nurse, two patient care assistants, and a client care assistant. The practice handles a varied small animal caseload, offering the opportunity to gain experience in a busy and diverse setting. This position allows them to be part of a growing community dedicated to providing the best possible care for animals.
Responsibilities
- Consistently deliver exceptional care to clients.
- Assist with surgeries and procedures, managing all pre- and post-procedure activities.
- Conduct nurse-led appointments and Schedule 3 activities.
- Monitor and care for patients throughout their treatment.
- Manage admissions and discharges as directed by the veterinary team.
- Facilitate patient transfers for out-of-hours or enhanced care.
- Dispense and verify medication.
- Uphold professional excellence, adhering to all regulatory, practice, and operational standards.
- Lead briefings to engage and coordinate the team for effective practice operations.
Requirements
- RCVS-registered Veterinary Nurse.
- Proven experience in delivering exceptional care to patients and clients.
- Strong ability to work effectively within a team.
- Experience in supporting nurse consultations, with an understanding of how this contributes to practice performance and efficiency.
- Skilled in using coaching and influencing techniques to maximise the potential of colleagues.
