Job Description

Our client is seeking an experienced and dedicated Senior Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN) to join their busy 24-hour hospital team. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and confident RVN who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is looking to take the next step into a senior hospital position.

In this full-time role (40 hours per week), the successful candidate will play a key part in supporting multiple hospital departments, including theatre, wards, consultations, and emergency and critical care (ECC). They will work closely with a large, supportive team of veterinary professionals and contribute to delivering outstanding patient care in a modern, well-equipped hospital environment.

This position is ideal for a highly experienced RVN who enjoys variety and responsibility. If they excel in one department more than another, training and support are readily available – whether that’s ward nursing, clinical leadership, or other areas of professional development.

They will be joining a collaborative team made up of veterinary surgeons, RVNs, SVNs, VCAs, and a dedicated front-of-house team, all committed to maintaining exceptional clinical standards and client service.

  • Confident working across multiple departments and able to adapt to varied caseloads

  • Excellent communication, teamwork, and organisational skills

  • Enthusiasm for supporting and guiding colleagues

  • Commitment to delivering exceptional patient care and client service

Working Pattern

  • 40-hour working week

  • 1:6 weekend rota with TOIL

  • Up to three bank holidays per year

  • On-call duties only as a last resort, supported by a strong night team (two RVNs and one VCA on shift each night)

  • Varied weekly schedule offering excellent case exposure and diversity

Benefits

Our client believes in recognising and rewarding their people generously for the contributions they make.

  • Salary: £34,000 – £39,000 (depending on experience), with scope for progression within the role
