Job Description

A well-established and growing small animal practice is seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN) to lead a dynamic and friendly team. This popular first-opinion clinic is known for its high standards of patient care and supportive working environment.

This is an exciting opportunity for an RVN who enjoys both clinical and leadership responsibilities. The successful candidate will work closely with the lead vet and a growing nursing and support team, contributing to the efficient day-to-day running of the practice and shaping the clinic’s future as it continues to expand.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and support the nursing team to deliver exceptional patient care
  • Oversee daily clinic operations, including diary management and equipment maintenance
  • Ensure high standards of clinical governance are upheld
  • Support team engagement and morale
  • Assist in the induction and development of new team members
  • Participate in a fair weekend rota, which includes 1:4 Saturday mornings and 1:10 Sundays at a nearby hospital site, plus 1 bank holiday per year with time off in lieu

Requirements

  • Qualified RVN with relevant experience in a first-opinion practice
  • Confident in clinical nursing and passionate about mentoring others
  • Organised, proactive, and enthusiastic about team development
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
  • Comfortable managing clinical standards and supporting improvements

Benefits

  • Competitive salary of £34,000 to £39,000 depending on experience
  • 6.6 weeks’ annual leave including bank holidays
