Job Description

We are looking for a confident and experienced veterinary surgeon to take on a senior role within our well-established and thriving clinic. The successful candidate will join a close-knit team, working alongside experienced veterinary professionals and support staff. This role offers the opportunity to develop clinical and management skills, with CPD support available for those looking to advance their expertise. You will contribute to the clinic’s growth and success while ensuring excellent veterinary care for patients and a welcoming experience for clients.

 

Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality veterinary care and consultations to clients and their pets.
  • Perform routine and complex surgical procedures with confidence.
  • Work collaboratively with the veterinary and support teams to maintain high standards of patient care.
  • Offer mentorship and guidance to junior veterinary staff and support staff.
  • Ensure compliance with clinical protocols and best practices.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed medical records.
  • Participate in the clinic’s weekend and rota schedule, including branch and hospital rotations where applicable.

 

Requirements

  • Qualified veterinary surgeon with relevant certifications.
  • Experience in a general practice setting, confident in routine surgeries and consultations.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.
  • A proactive and compassionate approach to patient care.
  • Ability to provide mentorship and leadership within the team.

 

Benefits

  • Senior vet salary band: £63,000 – £83,000 (FTE) depending on experience.
  • Additional vet salary band: £42,000 – £58,000 (FTE), with flexibility in rota arrangements.
