Job Description
Our client is seeking an experienced and confident Senior Vet to step into a leadership position within one of their well-established and thriving first-opinion practices. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys a busy and varied caseload, and who is ready to make a real impact – both clinically and as a mentor to a growing team.
Objectives
This is an exciting time to join as the practice enters a new phase of development and growth. The successful candidate will lead a talented and supportive team that includes both full-time and part-time vets, as well as an experienced Senior RVN. With recent investment in new diagnostic facilities, there is a great opportunity to help shape the practice’s future, raise clinical standards, and deliver outstanding patient care.
They will receive ongoing support from a dedicated Regional Manager and Regional Head Vet, making this an excellent step for anyone seeking their first senior position, or for an experienced vet looking for their next leadership challenge.
Responsibilities

Provide strong clinical leadership and mentorship to the veterinary team

Deliver high-quality first-opinion veterinary care across a wide and varied caseload

Support the management team in driving positive clinical and operational change

Foster a culture of collaboration, growth, and learning within the team

Work closely with nearby hospital colleagues for OOH and complex case support

Contribute to the ongoing success and growth of the practice
Requirements
-
RCVS-registered Veterinary Surgeon with solid general practice experience

Confident in routine surgery and internal medicine

Strong leadership and communication skills

A passion for mentoring and developing others

Comfortable working in a busy, fast-paced environment

Enthusiastic about continuous improvement and clinical excellence
Working Pattern
-
4-day working week (average 40.4 hours)

Alternating days off shared with a fellow full-time vet
-
1:4 weekend rota and 1:8 hospital Sunday rotation
-
Up to two bank holidays per year
-
Approximately six short twilight shifts per year

Salary: £64,000 – £85,000 (FTE), depending on experience, with scope for progression

Annual leave: 6.6 weeks, including bank holidays
