Job Description
Shape Your Career with an Award-Winning Independent Practice
Our client believes veterinary medicine is as much a craft as it is a science. Since opening in 2020, they have built something truly special: an independent, family-run practice that combines high clinical standards with a welcoming, community-first ethos. In just a few years, this approach has won multiple awards – and now they are looking for a dedicated veterinary surgeon to join their growing team.
This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a close-knit, supportive team in a boutique-style practice. You’ll work alongside talented colleagues on a varied caseload, enjoy autonomy in your clinical decisions, and contribute to projects that shape the future of the practice. Whether your passion lies in small furries, imaging, cardiology, or developing new skills, they will support you in carving out your niche and building lasting client relationships.
Responsibilities
As one of their vets, your day-to-day will be diverse, rewarding, and well-structured. You will:
- Deliver high-quality clinical and surgical care to patients.
- Build strong, trusting relationships with clients and their pets.
- Take part in case discussions, clinical meetings, and team mentoring.
- Share responsibility for a fair rota (1 in 4 Saturday mornings, no Sundays, bank holidays, or OOH).
- Protect your admin and lunch breaks – yes, they insist on this!
- Contribute to a supportive, collaborative culture.
Requirements
They would love to hear from you if you are:
- A qualified veterinary surgeon (MRCVS).
- Confident in both routine and some complex cases.
- Motivated, people-focused, and a strong communicator.
- Keen to learn, share knowledge, and support colleagues.
- Looking for a role where work-life balance and wellbeing are genuinely respected.
Benefits
They take pride in looking after their people as well as their patients. Here’s what they offer:
- Salary range of £48,000 – £70,000 (pro-rata for part-time).
- Five weeks’ holiday plus bank holidays.
- Your birthday off to celebrate.
- Generous, uncapped CPD allowance.
- Paid RCVS and VDS fees.
- Pet insurance premiums covered (after 3 months).
- Staff discount scheme and workplace pension.
- Fresh fruit, locally sourced coffee, and a friendly kitchen culture.
- A supportive, award-winning team and loyal clients.

If you’d like to be part of a practice where people, pets, and community truly matter, they would love to hear from you. Pop in for a coffee, give them a call, or apply today.
