Surgical Nurses

Job Description

About the Role:

• 4 day week, 35hrs
• Two additional surgical nurses are required so support our new (extended) surgical suites within the hospital.
• Must be proficient in anaesthesia, general interest in surgical educational development. Experience with orthopaedic kits and equipment is also beneficial although not a pre-requisite
• 1 in 4 weeks shifts
• High ECC, referral caseload
• Salary bracket 28-30K dependent upon experience
• Highly experienced, certificate-holding nursing (surgical and in-patient) team support
• Be part of a ever-expanding (67 colleague) team, including certificate holder vet support, mental health first aiders and life-coach mentorship in-house support.
• First opinion, hospital, OOH Emergency and referral caseload (supporting 15 clinics in the region)
• Dedicated (separate) night clinical teams

Flexibility to interview via ZOOM links or hospital visits

About the Practice:

• 7 consulting rooms
• Dedicated end-of-life consulting suite
• Separate Cat (ISFM gold) and Dog Waiting facilities
• Expansive dog ward, ISFM gold cattery, isolation wards, dedicated ECC
• Casco kennelling
• Three surgical suites (with laparoscopy coming soon)
• Dedicated dental suite
• Dedicated imaging suite (X-ray, dopler ultrasound, endoscopy)
• Sterilization room
• Purpose-built laboratory
• State of the art colleague facilities, including rest areas, free coffee and chilled filter water for all team members
• Dedicated meeting room /CPD suite (which also houses the Birstall Hospital’s in-house student nurse school, rotational EMS vet placement centre and Vet Graduate support schemes).
