Job Description

Our client is a small and friendly practice offering a tranquil environment with easy access to transport links and beautiful countryside walks. They are seeking a Veterinary Surgeon to join their team part-time, working 32 hours per week. This role involves occasional sole charge responsibilities and offers the chance to work in a well-equipped practice with a varied small-animal caseload.

The successful candidate will work closely with a supportive team, delivering exceptional care to both patients and clients. This role offers the opportunity to develop and implement clinical care plans, mentor team members, and contribute to the overall performance and efficiency of the practice. The candidate will be part of a community dedicated to maintaining the highest standards of veterinary care.

 

Responsibilities

In this role, the successful candidate will:

  • Deliver exceptional clinical care during consultations and procedures.
  • Provide clear and compassionate updates to clients regarding their pets.
  • Maintain professional excellence by adhering to regulatory, practice, and operational standards.
  • Prepare accurate and tailored treatment and care plans with clear cost estimates.
  • Mentor and develop the team, enhancing their skills and effectiveness.
  • Complete clinical handovers and arrange transfers for patients requiring out-of-hours or enhanced care.
  • Proactively share and support clinical best practices within and across practices and the wider community.

 

Requirements

  • RCVS-registered Veterinary Surgeon.
  • Proven experience in delivering high-quality care to both patients and clients.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and demonstrate clinical leadership skills.
  • Experience in fostering a progressive clinical culture.
  • Familiarity with supporting nurse consultations and Schedule 3 procedures, understanding their impact on clinic performance.
  • Strong coaching and influencing skills to maximise colleague potential.
