Job Description

Our client is currently seeking a dedicated veterinarian to join their expanding small animal practice. Due to unforeseen circumstances, they have a vacancy to fill, with one of their team members taking maternity leave from mid-July. As the practice continues to grow, they are offering a permanent position rather than just a fixed-term maternity cover.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work in a supportive environment alongside experienced professionals. They will contribute to the practice’s ambitious goals, including securing Investors in the Environment and RCVS Practice Standards Scheme awards. Depending on their experience and interests, they will work closely with either a surgery certificate holder or a VetGDP adviser to further develop their skills and qualifications.



  • Perform consultations and surgeries with care and precision
  • Provide excellent client service and contribute to a positive practice culture
  • Collaborate with colleagues to maintain high standards of care and achieve practice goals
  • Participate in ongoing learning and development activities
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with regulatory standards



  • Qualified veterinarian registered with the relevant veterinary governing body
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Organised and detail-oriented with a collaborative approach to patient care
  • Interest in surgery and willingness to pursue further qualifications
  • Progression through the VetGDP program or study for a certification is encouraged and supported



  • Competitive salary range of £37,000 to £50,000 FTE depending on experience
  • Flexible working hours with a 4-day week and occasional Saturday mornings
