Job Description

Our client is an RCVS practice standards accredited small animal hospital, renowned for its emergency and critical care services. They are seeking a dedicated veterinary professional to join their well-established and friendly team.

The successful candidate will join a supportive team, many of whom have been with the hospital for over 10 years. The team comprises 7 day vets, 3 night vets, 6 day RVNs, 2 night RVNs, 4 SVNs, 3 PCAs, and 5 CCAs. As a registered nurse training practice and graduate vet residency provider, the hospital offers ample opportunities for professional development and involvement in various projects.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Consistently deliver exceptional care to clients and their pets.
  • Support surgeries and procedures, handling all pre- and post-procedure activities.
  • Conduct nurse-led appointments and schedule 3 activities.
  • Monitor and care for patients.
  • Manage admissions and discharges as directed by the veterinary team.
  • Complete patient transfers to out-of-hours or enhanced care.
  • Dispense and check medication.
  • Uphold professional excellence, complying with all regulatory, practice, and operational standards.
  • Hold briefings to engage and coordinate the team for the effective running of the practice.

 

Requirements:

  • RCVS registered Veterinary Nurse.
  • Experience in delivering exceptional patient and client care.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Experience in supporting nurse consultations and understanding their contribution to practice performance and efficiency.
  • Skilled in using coaching and influencing techniques to maximise colleague potential.
