An exciting opportunity has arisen for a talented Veterinary Surgeon to join a long-standing hospital team. This role offers a fast-paced environment with a varied caseload.

The successful candidate will join a dedicated team keen to enhance their careers. They will particularly welcome someone who shares a passion for medicine and ultrasonography. As a 24-hour hospital, the team encounters a diverse range of cases, from routine consultations, surgeries, and dental treatments to complex medical and surgical workups. With in-house capabilities including a full lab, X-ray, ultrasound, endoscopy, and CT, they handle diagnostics efficiently using modern equipment. Additionally, they perform advanced procedures, including laparoscopic surgeries, soft tissue surgeries, and orthopaedic surgeries, allowing for comprehensive in-house case management. The hospital is RCVS practice standards accredited, with emergency and critical care accreditation.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver exceptional clinical care to patients during consultations and procedures.
  • Provide excellent care to clients, giving clear updates on their pets.
  • Maintain professional excellence, observing the highest standards of regulatory, practice, and operational compliance.
  • Prepare tailored, accurate treatment and care plans for each patient with clear cost estimates.
  • Engage, mentor, and develop the team, enhancing their skills and utilising these effectively.
  • Complete clinical handover and arrange the transfer of any patient needing out-of-hours or enhanced care.
  • Proactively support and share clinical best practices within and across practices and the wider veterinary community.

 

Requirements

  • RCVS registered Veterinary Surgeon.
  • Experienced in delivering exceptional care to both patients and clients.
  • Proven ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Demonstrated clinical leadership skills.
  • Experience in implementing a progressive clinical culture.
  • Experience supporting nurse consultations and Schedule 3 procedures, with an understanding of how this contributes to clinic performance and efficiency.
  • Skilled in using coaching and influencing techniques to optimise team performance.
