Job Description
Our client’s stunning and recently refurbished practice is situated in a charming town, nestled close to historic buildings and picturesque scenery. The practice is just a short walk from the town centre, surrounded by great shops, cafés, and restaurants. The area offers opportunities for market trips, walks, hikes, festivals, and special events, with convenient access to nearby beaches, beautiful countryside, and good transport links to major cities.
The successful candidate will work in a busy small animal first opinion practice with a loyal client base. The practice features two consultation rooms, spacious cat and dog waiting areas, an x-ray and prep room, a lab, a theatre, office space, and a kitchen. Supported by experienced Registered Veterinary Nurses and Veterinary Care Assistants, the candidate will take on a sole charge role, utilising their clinical expertise and passion for animal welfare. There are also opportunities for Lead Vet or Branch Partnership, offering the chance to own part of the clinic and enjoy clinical freedom with full support from the wider network.
Responsibilities
- Deliver exceptional clinical care to patients during consultations and procedures.
- Provide outstanding care to clients, offering clear updates on patient progress.
- Ensure professional excellence by adhering to the highest standards of regulatory, practice, and operational compliance.
- Prepare accurate estimates for clients, manage payments, and minimise debt.
- Collaborate with the Practice Manager to optimise commercial performance, focusing on key measures.
- Mentor and develop the team, enhancing their skills and effectively utilising their talents.
- Inspire the team by sharing new or evolving practice standards and processes.
- Complete clinical handovers and manage the transfer of patients requiring out-of-hours or enhanced care.
- Actively support and share clinical best practices within the practice and the broader community.
Requirements
- RCVS registered Veterinary Surgeon.
- Demonstrated clinical leadership skills.
- Experience in delivering exceptional care to both patients and clients.
- A strong understanding and appreciation of exceptional care and its impact on the client experience.
- Proven experience in fostering a progressive clinical culture.
- Track record of delivering strong commercial performance through effective clinical activity allocation.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Skilled in using coaching and influencing techniques to maximise the potential of colleagues.
