The successful candidate will join a busy, small animal first opinion practice with a dedicated client base. They will work alongside experienced Registered Veterinary Nurses and Veterinary Care Assistants. As a sole charge vet, the candidate will have the opportunity to showcase their skills, clinical expertise, and passion for animal welfare, contributing to the growth and success of the practice and the wider team. Opportunities for a Lead Vet or Branch Partnership role are available, offering the chance to own part of the clinic and exercise clinical freedom, with comprehensive support from the broader network.
Responsibilities
- Deliver exceptional clinical care during consultations and procedures.
- Provide clear updates to clients about their pets’ health and treatments.
- Maintain the highest standards of regulatory and operational compliance.
- Prepare accurate estimates for clients, ensuring prompt payment and minimising debt.
- Collaborate with the Practice Manager to optimise commercial performance, focusing on key measures.
- Mentor and develop team members, enhancing their skills and effectiveness.
- Share and implement new practice standards and procedural changes.
- Conduct clinical handovers and arrange transfers for patients requiring out-of-hours or specialised care.
- Support and promote clinical best practices within the practice and the wider network.
Requirements
- Registered Veterinary Surgeon with the RCVS.
- Demonstrated clinical leadership skills.
- Proven experience in delivering high-quality care to patients and clients.
- Understanding and commitment to exceptional client service.
- Experience fostering a progressive clinical culture.
- Track record of achieving strong commercial results through efficient clinical practice management.
- Team-oriented with effective coaching and influencing skills.
