Job Description

Our client is seeking a skilled Veterinary Surgeon to join their well-equipped practice. This is a permanent, full-time position with a 40-hour workweek spread over four days, including a 1:6 weekend rota. Part-time applications are also welcome, with flexibility offered to accommodate individual needs.

The successful candidate will join a collaborative team comprising two vets, one nurse, one student nurse, and two patient care assistants. The team works cohesively to deliver high-quality services to a welcoming client base. Responsibilities

  • Deliver exceptional clinical care during consultations and procedures.
  • Provide excellent care to clients, ensuring clear communication and updates on patient status.
  • Maintain the highest standards of regulatory, practice, and operational compliance.
  • Prepare tailored treatment and care plans for patients, including clear cost estimates.
  • Mentor and develop team members, enhancing their skills and utilising them effectively.
  • Manage clinical handovers and arrange for the transfer of patients needing out-of-hours or enhanced care.
  • Actively support and share clinical best practices within the practice and the broader community.

 

Requirements

  • RCVS-registered Veterinary Surgeon.
  • Experience in providing outstanding care to patients and clients.
  • Proven ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Demonstrated clinical leadership skills.
  • Experience in fostering a progressive clinical culture.
  • Knowledge of supporting nurse consults and Schedule 3 procedures, with an understanding of their impact on practice performance and efficiency.
  • Competent in using coaching and influencing skills to maximise colleague performance.
