Our client has an opportunity for a Veterinary Surgeon to join their talented team at a 24-hour hospital in East Riding of Yorkshire. This role supports not only the main team but also additional clinics in the area. The position offers a chance to advance your career in a full-time capacity.

The successful candidate will be part of a dedicated team comprising a clinical director, head nurses, vets, RVNs, student nurses, patient care assistants, client care assistants, and administrative staff. They will work in a well-equipped facility featuring 24-hour hospitalisation, separate dog, cat, exotic, and isolation wards, three operating theatres with updated surgical facilities, an in-house lab, and excellent diagnostic imaging facilities, including ultrasound, Doppler, digital X-ray, a range of digital endoscopes, rhinoscopy, arthroscopy, and a CT suite. The role also involves contributing to the practice’s ongoing development and supporting a dedicated night team.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver exceptional clinical care to patients during consultations and procedures.
  • Provide clear updates to clients about their patients.
  • Maintain high standards of regulatory, practice, and operational compliance.
  • Prepare tailored, accurate treatment and care plans for each patient, including clear cost estimates.
  • Engage, mentor, and develop the team, enhancing their skills and utilising them effectively.
  • Complete clinical handovers and arrange patient transfers for out-of-hours or enhanced care.
  • Proactively support and share clinical best practices within the practice and the wider community.

 

Requirements:

  • RCVS registered Veterinary Surgeon.
  • Experienced in delivering exceptional care to both patients and clients.
  • Proven ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Demonstrated clinical leadership skills.
  • Experience in fostering a progressive clinical culture.
  • Skilled in supporting nurse consultations and Schedule 3 procedures, with an understanding of their impact on clinic performance and efficiency.
  • Experienced in using coaching and influencing skills to maximise team performance.
